Have to agree with you dave, it looks a very promising device but WebOS is really lacking in the apps department so i cant see it being a threat to Android or Apple for quite a while.

Yes, it is a shame that they can't launch with more developer support behind them. The hardware and OS looks superb.

a winner cos of the multitasking for business and i woud buy it probs out of all the tablets out i cant wait till there hp veer comes out in the uk so thats my opinion ;)

I think the technology they are using is awesome but, as you were saying, the lack of apps will totally ruin the whole thing like bad hardware ruined the WebOS smartphone experience in 2007. BUT, in a couple of years they will became a valuable rival for Apple, iOS and the iPad...

I know this post is old but my Touchpad is purely for media all the important things are on my PC or my smartphone got it on fire sale for 99 dollars i couldent even believe it so it was an offer i couldent let pass i wouldent need to upgrade to an ipad or an android tablet sence ive ownd an ipad before and i didnt do much more on it than my hp so if you find a good deal taake it ( great for flights)

So, the HP TouchPad has just appeared on preorder on the HP UK website. This new device with its snazzy WebOS looks very promising, but I must admit to being concerned about the lack of apps & support for it.
What do you guys & gals think, will it be a challenger to the Google Android based tablets and even perhaps the iPad?
Are you going to buy one?
