The screen is quite simply stunning, at FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution, it uses IPS technology and the colours are superb and viewing angles extremely impressive. There are no notches here either, just a small punch-out hole for the 32MP selfie camera, which captures accurate skin tones. Around the back, Huawei have upped the camera to a quad array with depth sensor. These equate to 48 MP (f/1.8 aperture AF) + 16 M (f/2.2 aperture FF) + 2 M (f/2.4 aperture FF) + 2 M (f/2.4 aperture FF). The amount of detail is impressive and even capable of taking great close-uo (macro) photos too. I used the camera a lot and really loved the natural tones, much better than the over-saturated colours that some smartphone cameras produce.
Moving things along inside the nova 5T is a HUAWEI Kirin 980 Octa-core processor, which turns in a great performance. All the apps I used launched quickly and I had no issue with slowdown, even after opening up the likes of my browser, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and a few other apps. And to top things off, thanks to the 3,750mAh battery, I managed one and a half days on a single charge.
I think Huawei have a winner on their hands here, itβs a solid smartphone with plenty to offer.
