New iPod Nano 4G - LED lit Click Wheel

I was just looking at these mockups by Miguel Suárez and came to the conclusion/prediction that this could well be a possibility. However, take a look at the click wheel. What happens when the user turns this new Nano on its side to watch a video. My prediction is that the click wheel will be a smoked black (in this case) or a semi-translcent finish. The menu, play/pause, and skip symbols will be tiny OLED screens being the fascia and light up according to which way you are holding the device.

If this is how Apple design the new Nano, they certainly win my vote.

Echo Mirror - Funky iPod Nano Case from Proporta

When something is a little on the different side, it certainly catches my attention. The Echo Mirror case for the 3rd gen iPod Nano is certainly thinking outside the box. It protects your Nano in true style. The part that covers the screen lets those colours shine through in all their glory, but when you turn your Nano off, the screen becomes a mirror. Cool... handbag goodness... this can be yours for just over £10 from Proporta.

iPhone & iPod touch Accessories Coming to Geekanoids

We have been gradually introducing new items to the Geekanoids Shop, where you can already by the GeekPouch for all of the new iPods and the iPhone. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing some great value clear crystal cases for the iPod touch and the iPhone, along with some screen protectors to keep those greasy smudges and scratches away. This is our way of raising some funds to help pay for the hosting and associated costs of the Geekanoids website, so your support is really appreciated.

Leopard Launch... so Leopard GeekPouch

It seems a bit obvious, but what with the Mac OS X Leopard launch and the slew of articles talking about it, we had to produce a GeekPouch in the same flavour. Head on over to the Geekanoids Shop and you can buy a fur effect pouch with Leopard design print for your iPhone, iPod touch, classic, 3rd gen Nano or 5th gen iPod. Same prices as before, starting at £5.99 for UK orders and £10.99 for international.
I should also mention that our tan pouch for the iPod touch is almost completely gone, we are down to the last few.

Griffin Evolve Wireless Sound - Now Shipping

Griffin Technology, maker of all things iPod, today announced it has begun shipping its highly anticipated Evolve Wireless Sound System. Evolve is available exclusively through its launch partner Best Buy, and online at BestBuy.com, at the retail price of $299.99.

"Evolve will change the way people listen to music," said Paul Griffin, President of Griffin Technology. "We did away with the limitations from traditional sound systems -- the wires. Evolve gives users the freedom to listen to their music wherever they choose."

Evolve is the first widely available digital sound system for iPod and other digital devices that features speakers that are both rechargeable and wireless; they need no power outlets or physical connection to the base station. Evolve is built for everyone who wants a simple, elegant way to play music throughout the home or workplace without the hassle of speaker and power wires.

Evolve consists of a base unit with a dock for your iPod (and line-in RCA jacks for other players) and a pair of matched speakers with internal lithium-ion batteries that play up to 10 hours on a single charge. Speakers can be easily carried from room to room throughout the home, apartment, office, patio, etc.

Evolve streams music digitally from its Base Unit to wherever you place the speakers -- inside, outside, in the next room -- up to 150 feet away. Evolve's powerful RF remote control puts you in command of Evolve and your iPod through walls and windows. It's the next evolutionary step in speaker systems for the home.

Videos of the Evolve Wireless Sound System in action can be found here.

GeekPouch - Tan for iPod touch - Limited Stock

In the run up to the holiday season it is very likely you will be filling your own stocking, or someone near to you, with a new iPod or perhaps even an iPhone. Our very own GeekPouches have been proving very popular, it is often hard to keep up with the orders.
For something a little different, we have a very limited stock of iPod touch pouches in tan faux suede. At the time of writing this, we literally have about 15 left, so if you want one of these tan pouches, head on over to the GeekPouch page now.

Better Sound for your iPod Touch, Classic, Nano

It is often the case that anyone serious about their music listening pleasure normally ditch the earphones included with ANY MP3 player. With the iPod you get half decent earphones IMO, but if you want to really take things to a higher level, then we really like the look of these q-JAYS. With a tiny size of just 18.4 x 7.5 x 7.5 mm the q-JAYS are the smallest earphones on the market. Despite their size, the q-JAYS promise to deliver awesome sound, and can be yours, in black or white for just $179.00 which includes a nice set of accessories. We hope to bring you a review real soon.

Review of new 3rd Gen iPod Nano - Next Week

Just a quick update for you all. We have our review unit of the new 3rd generation iPod Nano arriving next Monday. So, keep an eye on the Geekanoids website, as we hope to have our video review online by Wednesday at the latest. We are very excited about this, as we have had such a great response to our earlier review of the iPod Classic.

**UPDATE** The iPod Nano has landed and this 3rd gen cutie is so so small and very thin. Initial impressions as you open it are wow, how can Apple fit all this technology into such a tiny package. The screen also looks so sharp with superb definition. Check back late tomorrow for a full video review.
